How quickly must I tell the seller about a fault?
EU law sets no deadline of its own, but Member States may require you to inform the seller within at least two months of the date you detected the fault.
Write to the seller as soon as you notice the problem, describe the fault and keep a copy. A national notification rule never shortens the two-year liability period itself.
